On our search for the perfect space saving ideas across the web, we came across Made.com. If you haven’t visited their site before, go there now. We hate to say it but forget Space Saving Ideas and head straight to Made for some of the most beautiful yet affordable furniture on the web.
One of the greatest things about Made.com is the affordability of their furniture due to them cutting out the middleman. Here’s their explanation, straight from their about us page:
“We think the high street and expensive designer brands give consumers a raw deal. That’s because everyone along the way takes a cut, from agents to landlords. And you – our discerning customer – pay for that cut. So we’re making a stand: taking on the high street to offer you original furniture design at affordable prices.”
Our favourite at the moment is their Fonteyn Collection.
These striking pieces, including dressing tables, bedside cabinets, desks and coffee tables are both bold and yet elegant, which is a unique combination that we really love.
Designed by Steuart Padwick, a furniture designer, maker and product developer who has collaborated with Made.com since the website’s launch, these oak and walnut or oak and coral pieces come in a more traditional wood finish or a more eye-catching red finish. The beautiful curves and the angular legs add a certain glamour to these fresh and original designs.
It’s almost impossible to pick a favourite from the Fonteyn Collection but I must admit that I’ve been eyeing up the Fonteyn media unit in oak and walnut (which you can see at the top of this post). Typically £769 on the high street, it is just £499 on Made.com and I just know that it will look great in my living room. Against the white wall it will be a real stand-out piece to be proud of.
Thanks for visiting. We’ll be back soon.
